How an OPZET engagement actually works.

From first contact to final delivery and handoff.

01

Discovery Call

(45–60 minutes)

We spend the first call understanding the problem, not pitching services. We want to know: what are you trying to achieve, what does your data situation look like, what systems does this need to connect to, what is your internal technical capacity, and what does success look like in concrete terms.

You will not sit through a presentation about our capabilities. We already know what we can do — we want to understand what you need.

02

Scoped Proposal

If the engagement is a fit, we write a proposal. Every proposal defines deliverables explicitly, states what is out of scope, includes a timeline with milestones, and specifies the fee structure and payment schedule. The proposal expires in 30 days.

You know exactly what you are buying before you sign anything. There are no surprises in scope, timeline, or cost — and if anything changes, a written change order comes before any additional work begins.

03

Agreement and Deposit

We use a written agreement for every engagement. A deposit (typically 50% for projects under $25,000) is due at signing. Work begins when both the agreement is signed and the deposit is received.

Both parties are committed. This is what makes the engagement function as a real professional relationship rather than an informal arrangement.

04

Phased Delivery

We work in defined phases with milestone checkpoints. You see progress before final delivery. At each checkpoint, you review what has been built against the acceptance criteria you agreed to. Feedback is incorporated before the next phase begins.

You are not waiting months to see a black box open. You are involved throughout, and the final delivery reflects a process you participated in.

05

Final Delivery and Handoff

Final deliverables are delivered with documentation. We do not hand over a system that only we understand. If your team will maintain or extend the work, we train them on it. IP transfers to you upon receipt of final payment.

The engagement ends with you in control of what was built — not dependent on us to keep it running.

06

Post-Engagement Support

(Optional)

For clients who want ongoing access after a project closes, retainer arrangements are available. For clients who do not, we are accessible for reasonable follow-up questions within 30 days of delivery at no additional charge.

The best way to understand if this is the right process for you is to go through step one.
